Brownsville is lit.
Growing up in Brownsville, I did get into mischief. It's a part of the reason why I do the work that I do now.
I returned to Brownsville because I saw that there was a lot of opportunity to articulate some of the things that I had learned.
Part of the work is to help young people achieve their goals and reach their goals.
I wanted the community to feel empowered. And I wanted them to have something—a beacon of hope that says, yes we can.
Growing up, you have this idea of giving back to the community that kind of raised you, right? We love the idea.
The longer we do community work, the more you see the underlying fabric of community that is here. And there's a lot of love.
